StoryScore is a free personal brand voice quiz. It maps how you show up in content to three archetypes—your Center (core voice), Vibe (how you come across), and Twist (the surprise in how you tell stories)—so you can create with clarity instead of copying everyone else.

Who is StoryScore for?

StoryScore is for creators, founders, marketers, and anyone building a personal brand who wants a clearer, more authentic voice online. If your content feels generic or you struggle to explain your style, the quiz gives you a shared language for how you sound.

How does StoryScore work?

You answer a short series of questions about tone, storytelling, and how you like to show up. StoryScore calculates your Center, Vibe, and Twist archetypes and shows a results page you can share. You can optionally email yourself a full breakdown of what each archetype means for your content.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nik Goodner LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use StoryScore (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We've written this in plain language so you can understand exactly what happens with your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two types of information: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you use the Service.

Information You Provide

When you choose to submit your email at the end of the quiz, we collect:

Your first name
Your last name
Your email address
Your quiz results (your three archetypes: Center, Vibe, and Twist)
The date and time of submission

Email submission is optional. You can complete the quiz without providing any personal information.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect limited technical information through our analytics provider:

Aggregated page view counts
General location data at the country level
Browser type and operating system
Anonymous quiz completion records (your archetype results without any identifying information)

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking technology that follows you across websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To deliver your personalized StoryScore breakdown by email
To send occasional follow-up emails about StoryScore
To improve the Service and develop related content
To analyze usage patterns and improve user experience
To respond to your questions or requests
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Shared

To deliver the Service, we work with third-party service providers (also called "data processors") who handle data on our behalf according to our instructions. These providers fall into the following categories:

Hosting providers: companies that operate the servers running the Service
Email delivery providers: companies that deliver your StoryScore breakdown email and any follow-up communications
Data storage providers: companies that store your submission records and email subscriber data
Image generation services: services that create the share image of your StoryScore results
Security and bot protection services: services that protect the Service from abuse, fraud, and automated misuse (when enabled)
Analytics providers: privacy-first, cookieless analytics tools that provide aggregated, anonymized usage data

All of these providers are bound by contracts that require them to handle your data securely and only for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. Most are based in the United States.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We will only share your personal information with third parties beyond our data processors if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

StoryScore does not use tracking cookies. Specifically:

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, or any similar cross-site tracking tools.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless and does not store any identifiers in your browser.

Your quiz responses are stored in your browser's memory during your session. They are discarded when you close the tab or refresh the page. If you submit your email at the end of the quiz, your responses (in the form of your three archetypes) are then sent to our servers for storage.

If we add new tracking technologies in the future (for example, if we run advertising campaigns), we will update this Privacy Policy and request your consent through a cookie banner before any tracking begins.

5. Email Communications

If you submit your email address, you'll receive:

Your personalized StoryScore breakdown email
Occasional follow-up emails related to StoryScore

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email footer. Unsubscribing immediately removes you from our mailing list. You can also unsubscribe by emailing us at me@nikgoodner.com.

Note that unsubscribing stops new emails but does not automatically delete data we've already collected. To request full deletion of your data, see Section 7.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Email and quiz results: Retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. We retain this primarily so we can resend your results if you ask.
Anonymous quiz completion records: Retained indefinitely for analytics purposes. These contain no personal information and cannot be traced back to you.
Email engagement data (opens, clicks): Retained as long as you remain subscribed.

If you request deletion of your data (see Section 7), we will delete your personal information within 30 days of your request, except where we are required by law to retain it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. We honor the following rights for all users, regardless of location:

Right to access: You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you.
Right to correction: You can request that we correct inaccurate information.
Right to deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information.
Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw your consent to email communications at any time by unsubscribing.

If you are a resident of the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

Right to data portability (receive your data in a portable format)
Right to object to certain processing
Right to restrict processing
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If you are a resident of California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, use, and share
Right to delete personal information
Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (Note: We do not sell personal information)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmitted to and from the Service
Access controls on the third-party tools we use to store your data
Regular review of our security practices

However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data, and you provide your information at your own risk.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at me@nikgoodner.com and we will delete the information promptly.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you are using the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and the processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes (for example, if we begin using new tracking technologies or significantly change how we use your data), we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the revised Privacy Policy, you should discontinue use of the Service and may request deletion of your data.
